This was the final episode of Enterprise. It's more a TNG episode,
than an ENT episode. Being broadcast back-to-back with "Terra Prime"
made the contrast between the two episodes a bit... jarring.
So far as things Vulcan in this episode, I found it out of character.
It didn't sit right then, and hasn't since. This last season of
Enterprise had developed Vulcan in a way that was consistent with
TOS Vulcan. And this last episode didn't seem to have that consistency.
